OVER $50 BILLION IN CONSTRUCTION STARTS PLANNED IN GREAT LAKES REGION

The coming year will be a big spending year for construction in the Great Lakes Region.  According to research by Industrial Info Resources based in Sugarland, Texas, $50.1 billion in capital and maintenance projects are scheduled for the coming year.

“The Great Recession did some significant damage to the economy of the Great Lakes region in the U.S. These states have always been the blue collar backbone of manufacturing in the U.S. and when tens of thousands of jobs were lost, hundreds of plants were closed and billions in project spending was lost, the hit to the economies of these states was severe,” Industrial Info reported in a recent article.  “However, since the official end of the Great Recession the region has bounced back. Jobs have been created once again, some plants have reopened or been sold and opened under new management and spending has rebounded to a more respectable level.”
