Information We Collect
When you rent equipment from or conduct business with BlueLine Rental, and when you visit or use our Sites, request information, submit comments, register or open an account, or participate in blogs or our live chat feature or other interactive feature of the Sites, or otherwise communicate or interact with us, we will collect personal information from you for a variety of business purposes, including in order to respond to you or to provide and improve upon our services. What information we collect and how we collect this information will depend on how you choose to use our services and interact with us, including the services and opportunities we might provide on the Sites. We will collect personal information that you provide to us directly when you conduct business with us, including via telephone, fax, email, at the counter, upon completion of a rental form, or through your use of and interaction with us on the Sites. Such personal information will include information that you provide to us, such as your name, home and/or business address, phone number, email address, driver’s license information, and payment and credit card information (such as account or credit card numbers and expiration dates). We may also collect your date of birth and social security number or social insurance number (in Canada) and/or tax identification number to perform a credit check with your permission. Your date of birth may also be used to confirm eligibility to rent our equipment. We will also record information that details your purchases (e.g., the location from which you rented equipment or purchased other products or services, payment arrangements, insurance preferences, usage, and other information related to the particular equipment you might rent or other products or services you might purchase). When we collect payment information directly from you, like credit card numbers and expiration dates, we transmit this data directly from you to our third-party payment processing company, and the information is not stored by BlueLine Rental.
We may also collect personal information you provide to us via your mobile device, smartphone and tablet while using the Sites, such as information you provide during an online transaction, any online account information, e-mail addresses, and other information you might provide to us. For example, we may require your name and e-mail address to add you to an e-mail newsletter list at your request. If you choose to enter a contest or sweepstakes delivered by us, we may require a home address, cell phone or telephone number to enter you in such contest or sweepstakes so that we can send prize notifications, deliver rewards or prizes or notify you of special offers. Users who register to receive information via a wireless device may be asked to submit a cell phone number to receive text messages. We may also offer the option to interact with one of our representatives directly while using the Sites in order to ask questions, request information, and to assist you in using our services, and we will record the information you provide during these interactions to assist us in providing and improving our services. You can access many features on the Sites without providing personal information to us, but you may be prevented from making full use of all the online features and/or promotions we offer and we may be unable to provide you with the level of service that you would otherwise expect from us.
Our equipment may have location-based (GPS) and other sensor monitoring functionality. We may use sensor data to understand how our equipment has been operating. We may use information collected by GPS monitoring if we believe that the equipment is lost or stolen. We also review information about the equipment at the request of a customer if it is necessary to investigate the customer’s employee’s compliance with company policy, provided that the employee has had notice of and has acknowledged the collection and use of this information. If we are legally permitted to do so, we may also disclose location-based or other information relating to the equipment to law enforcement and other authorities who request that information for an investigation or to whom we wish to disclose the information in order to assist law enforcement in deciding whether to commence an investigation.
Our mobile application may include functionality to allow you to check product availability, reserve equipment, locate the nearest rental location, compare equipment specifications and send certain content from the app to friends who may find such content useful or interesting. In addition to the information mentioned above, our mobile applications may collect precise information about the location of your device. You must first provide permission through your device before our mobile applications obtain such location information from technologies like GPS, Wi-Fi, or cell tower proximity (or a combination of these technologies). BlueLine Rental, and our service providers, may use and store this information, in combination with other location-based information such as an IP address, MAC (Media Access Control) address or other unique identifier (“Device Identifier”) and billing or postal code provided by you at time of your mobile application registration, to provide enhanced location based services, such as location-specific services, search results, and other content. You may revoke your consent to receive mobile messages, stop further collection of information from our mobile app, or opt-out from providing further location information as follows:
You can stop all collection of information by our mobile application by uninstalling the mobile application.
You may at any time opt-out from further allowing us to have access to your location data by adjusting the permissions in your device.
Use of third-party social networking websites, such as Twitter and Facebook, are governed by the privacy policies and practices of those websites. We do not capture or store your login information or any other personally identifiable information for Twitter, Facebook or other social networks; however, session information or cookies may be stored on your mobile device, by such websites.
If at any time you provide a third party’s personal information to us, you warrant that you have permission to do so and you agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless BlueLine Rental from and against any claim, liability, cost and expense arising in connection with your provision of that information.
Information We Receive From Third Parties
BlueLine Rental may receive information about you from third parties. For example, if you are on another web site and you opt-in to receive information from BlueLine Rental, that website will forward to us your email address and other information about you so that we may contact you as requested. You may also choose to participate in, or interact with us using, a third-party application or feature (such as one of our Facebook or Twitter pages or a similar page or feature on another social platform or website) through which you may allow us to collect (or the third party to share) information about you, including personal information. In addition, we may receive information about you if other users of a third party website give us access to their profiles and you are one of their “connections” or information about you is otherwise accessible through your “connections'” web page, profile page, or similar page on a social networking or other third-party website or interactive service.
We may also receive information about you from your employer if we are providing equipment or services to you in the course of your employment.
Cookies, Site Usage Data and De-identified Information
When you view the Sites, whether from your computer, tablet or mobile device, we may store some information on the device you use to access the Sites in the form of a “cookie” or other similar file. Cookies are used by many websites to give users access to certain functions (e.g., for security purposes, to tailor communications with you, and to facilitate and personalize your experience while navigating a Site). The information stored in the cookie can also be used to monitor a user’s behavior on the Sites. We, or third parties providing services to us, use this information to determine your interests based the actions you take online. We use third party suppliers to provide you with interest-based advertising when you visit other websites. In addition, we may advertise in e-mail newsletters that track whether you have opened the newsletter. We may receive reports on how you interacted with our advertisement or website through these advertisements and newsletters. We do not link this information with other identifiable information that we have collected about you.
You may configure your browser to reject cookies by modifying your browser settings and you may configure your e-mail not to download images that may contain clear GIFs and beacons that will communicate whether you opened the email. You may also visit the National Advertising Initiative (http://www.networkadvertising.org) to determine what cookies are being used on your system and to opt-out. Please note that you must do this for each browser that you use.
Some functions of our Sites may not function as intended or you will have access to all features and/or promotions we may offer if you reject all cookies from our Sites. For example, we may not be able to communicate with you using our chat function and we may not be able to process your orders in our check-out process.
BlueLine Rental also uses analytics services that provide us with certain information when you use the Sites or one of our mobile applications such as IP address, MAC (Media Access Control) address or other unique identifier (“Device Identifier”) for the device you use to access the Sites or mobile application and other information for the purposes of giving us operational and marketing data about our online visitors’ usage for our business purposes. The type of information gathered in monitoring use of the Sites and mobile applications could include, but will not be limited to, internet browser information, operating system information, dates and times of a particular user’s visit and/or click path taken through the Site, lookup information, and information that may be publicly available in connection with a Device Identifier such as general location of the user, business names and contact information. We receive analytics information in an aggregated form and use it to analyze, market, and improve our Sites and business. This information allows us to analyze which services and features are being used within our applications, as well as the device type and hardware features, country and language of download.
How We Use Your Personal Information
BlueLine Rental will collect and use your personal information only for specific purposes. BlueLine Rental will collect and use your personal information for a variety of business purposes, including:
To provide the services and offerings that you request, and to communicate with you regarding such services and offerings;
To do all things necessary to administer those services;
To research, develop, manage, protect and improve our Sites and services;
To maintain and develop our service-oriented software and other business systems;
To provide you with information on products, services, special deals, contest announcements, surveys or a newsletter in connection with a product or service about which you previously inquired, or about a product or service that we think you might be interested in;
To have a third party process payments on our behalf;
To notify the winners and award prizes in connection with promotions; and
To analyze data, or to have a third party do so on our behalf.
We may also use your personal information to protect the safety, property or other rights of BlueLine Rental and its employees.
You may opt-out of having your personal information used to contact you for certain commercial purposes. Users who no longer wish to receive our promotional communications may contact us by email to be removed from our lists. Be sure to include any contact information that you want removed from our promotional contacts list, including physical addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses (If you use more than one e-mail address, send your opt-out e-mail from each of your e-mail addresses.) If you receive any online newsletter or similar promotional e-mail communication from us, you will always be given the option to “unsubscribe” from receiving further e-mail communications from us at any time. Your option not to receive promotional and marketing material will not preclude us from corresponding with you, by e-mail or otherwise, regarding your existing or past business relationships with us (e.g., any purchase of our products or use of our services, or responses to requests for information you pose to us either through use of a Site or by other means). In addition, we may continue to use de-identified information for the purposes of maintaining and improving our Site and our services.
If you want to opt-out of receiving any communications from us, or if your personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code or postal code, phone, email or postal address), you may correct, update or delete/deactivate your personally identifiable information at any time by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For purposes of forums, discussion boards, certain promotions, and other public interactive areas that may be available on our Sites from time to time, you are solely responsible for the information and other content you post on or through our Sites. You understand that personal and other information that you post on or through public areas of our Sites are generally accessible to, and may be collected and used by, others and may result in unsolicited messages or other contact from others. Users of our Sites are encouraged to exercise caution when posting personal information about themselves in public areas.
Information We Share with Others
We may share information about you to your employer if we are providing equipment or services to you in the course of your employment under an agreement with your employer.
We reserve the right to transfer and disclose any information we have about you in connection with a sale, merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of assets, reorganization or liquidation of our business.
Do Not Track Requests; Third Party Tracking.
Unless your browser settings are configured to make your online activities and publicly available information about your online activities (such as traffic data as described above) invisible to usage analytics tools, we do not presently have the capability to omit you from usage analytics to the extent your browser sends us a “do not track” message. Third parties, other than our vendors (such as our website analytics provider), do not have authorization from us to track which websites you visited prior to and after visiting the Site. That said, we cannot control third party tracking and there may be some third party tracking that occurs without our knowledge or consent.
How Long We Retain Information
We will retain your information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it has been collected. We may also retain your information for a longer period if it is necessary for us to comply with laws governing the retention of records, whichever is longer, or to protect our legal rights.

Your California Privacy Rights
Pursuant to Section 1798.83 of the California Civil Code, residents of California have the right to request from a business, with whom the California resident has an established business relationship, certain information with respect to the types of personal information the business shares with third parties for direct marketing purposes by such third party and the identities of the third parties with whom the business has shared such information in the immediately preceding calendar year. Your Canadian Privacy Rights
Pursuant to Canadian privacy legislation, residents of Canada have the right to request access to and correction of personal information collected by us about those individuals. If you would like to update or correct your personal information, please log into your mobile or website account and update and correct your information. If you are unable to update or correct your information or you would like access to personal information that is not stored within your account, please contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or at the address noted under “Questions or Concerns”.
Residents of Canada may also withdraw their consent to the use of your personal information. Please note that even if you withdraw your consent, we may still be required or entitled to retain personal information about you that we have already collected in accordance with our retention practices. We may decline requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, would be extremely impractical or otherwise to the extent allowed by applicable law. We may also continue to use information that has been de-identified or included in aggregated statistics.
Our Sites may contain links to other sites, including charities with whom we partner from time to time. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each website to which we may link that may collect personally identifiable information to understand the privacy practices of such third parties. You are responsible for complying with the terms of any such third party privacy policies. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM AND WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY LIABILITY ASSOCIATED WITH HOW SUCH THIRD PARTIES COLLECT, STORE, USE OR DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
The Sites are not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and BlueLine Rental does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected the personal information of a child under 13 we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.
